Lalitpur Metropolitan City is one of the 6 municipalities in Lalitpur District of Bagmati Province. As per the 2021 census, the metropolitan city has a total population of 294,098, comprising 146,730 males (49.9%) and 147,368 females (50.1%), with a literacy rate of 89.99%. Spanning 36.12 square kilometers, Lalitpur Metropolitan City exhibits the population density of 8,142 people per square kilometer. Administratively, it is divided into 29 wards.
