The Provincial Government has recently amended the University Act, significantly raising the qualifications required for the Vice-Chancellor post. Under the revised regulations, candidates must now meet the following minimum requirements:
- Academic Qualification: Must hold a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree.
- Professional Experience: A minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience in the field.
- Age Limit: Candidates must be at least 40 years of age.
The Recommendation Committee emphasised that the selection will be carried out through a competitive and transparent process to ensure the most qualified leader is chosen for the university.
