Vidushi Yogamaya Himalayan Ayurveda University (YAU) is a national university established by the Government of Nepal under the Yogamaya Ayurveda University Act 2079 v.s.. Headquartered in the Arun Valley of the Koshi region, YAU focuses on teaching and research in Ayurveda, yoga, meditation, Himalayan medicine, herbal medicine, and the production of Ayurvedic medicines. The Government of Nepal has acquired over 425 ropani of land in Sankhuwasabha and Bhojpur for its development, with additional land acquisition underway.

The university aims to establish campuses, teaching hospitals, and production units across all seven provinces of Nepal, preserving and advancing the nation’s traditions in holistic healthcare.

The university is named after Vidushi Yogamaya Neupane, a courageous socio-religious reformer who led a movement against social and gender discrimination during the Rana era. Vidushi Yogamaya University (YAU) honors her legacy of reform and sacrifice.
