About
Sahid Dasharath Chand Health Science University is a specialized public institution being established by the Government of Nepal to focus on health sciences education and research. It is intended to be the country's first dedicated health science university, located in Geta, Kailali district, within Sudurpashchim Province, utilizing an existing multi-million rupee campus infrastructure.
The establishment process began with the Sahid Dasharath Chand Health Science University Bill, 2081 BS, which was unanimously passed by Nepal's House of Representatives on May 18, 2025, and authenticated by President Ram Chandra Paudel on June 18, 2025. As of August 2025, operational steps such as appointing university officers remain ongoing, amid local demands to commence activities promptly.
