Yangrima Boarding School

Yangrima Boarding School is a community-rooted school located in Sermathang, Helambu, established in 1989 to expand educational opportunities for children in rural Nepal. What began in 1987 as a small learning center to teach basic English and Nepali has grown into a full-fledged school, founded by local resident Gopal Lama to enable students to continue their education up to the secondary level.

The school is committed to providing inclusive and practical education that respects local languages, culture, and traditional knowledge while delivering the national curriculum. Yangrima Boarding School believes in holistic child development by blending academic learning with life skills, ethical values, and strong community support. Despite facing challenges such as conflict, natural disasters, and the COVID-19 pandemic, the school remains dedicated to ensuring that no child in the region is left behind.
