Tsho Rolpa General Hospital (Tsho Rolpa Polytechnic Institute), located in Charikot Bazar, Dolakha district, was established in 2008 A.D. with the primary aim of providing local girls the opportunity to pursue recognized degrees in Nursing. Over the years, the institute has contributed to the community in two important ways—empowering students to earn a living through professional skills and ensuring that patients in the district receive quality care without having to travel far. While it was founded with a focus on local students, learners from all over Nepal are welcome. The college strives to prepare competent health professionals who can serve both nationally and meet international standards.
Formerly known as Tsho Rolpa Nursing College, the institution offers a PCL in Nursing (Staff Nurse) program with 40 seats, affiliated with CTEVT, Sanothimi, Bhaktapur. Having successfully produced three batches, the college boasts a high employment rate for its graduates. In addition, the Polytechnic Institute now offers PCL in General Medicine (Health Assistant), Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology, and Diploma in Pharmacy, all affiliated with CTEVT.
Practical training is an integral part of the curriculum. Clinical classes and community services are conducted at Tsho Rolpa General Hospital, the parent organization. Students also gain experience in leading healthcare institutions: second-year students are placed at Madhyapur Hospital (Thimi), Baby Friendly Hospital (Panipokhari), and Bhaktapur Hospital; third-year students train at Bhaktapur Hospital, Dhading District Hospital (Gajure), and various Primary Health Care (PHC) Hospitals in Dolakha.
The college offers hostel facilities with a trained and experienced matron to ensure student welfare. A well-stocked library supports academic needs, while modern, well-equipped laboratories provide hands-on learning experiences. Highly qualified and experienced faculty members lead the programs, complemented by regular sessions from visiting lecturers. Construction of the college’s own dedicated building in Charikot is currently underway, marking another step forward in its mission to provide top-quality technical and vocational education in healthcare.
