About Us

Shree Shitaladevi Community Secondary School was formerly known as Matepani Primary School until its name was changed on 19th Poush 2059 B.S. Initially, the school had a small seven-room building with tin roofs. After the Gyan Mahayagya fundraising, a two-storey building with additional classrooms was constructed. Over the years, further infrastructure was developed through community initiatives, including new classroom buildings, a water tank, a health treatment room, and the establishment of a Saraswati Temple within the school premises.

In 2061 B.S., responding to community demand, the school began offering English-medium education from Nursery to Grade 3 at affordable fees. Initially staffed by a mix of government-appointed and private teachers, a new grade was added each year. By 2067 B.S., the school became part of the SLC examination system, achieving a 100% pass rate and gaining recognition as a model community school in Kaski District.

Management and science streams were later introduced to further broaden academic opportunities. Admissions are based on level assessments to ensure quality education.

Under the leadership of Principal Mr. Baburam Adhikari since 2072 B.S., the school has achieved numerous academic accomplishments. Alumni have gone on to pursue higher education and hold positions such as doctors, engineers, lawyers, and other roles in the Nepal Government. The school also encourages excellence through various endowment programs and awards for students pursuing higher studies.
