Founded in 2033 B.S., Satyawati Secondary School is a renowned public educational institution located in Vyas-2, Damauli, Tanahun. It offers English-medium education from Pre-primary to Grade 12, specializing in Science, Management, and Computer Engineering in +2 level. Originally founded through local initiative to provide safe access to education, it has evolved into a government-designated model school renowned for its academic excellence with english-medium instruction and British Council recognition.
Affiliated with the National Examinations Board (NEB) and recognized by the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, the school is widely respected for its dedication to quality, inclusive, and affordable education.
Satyawati Secondary School came into existence out of a critical community need. Before its inception, young children in the Damauli market area faced the life-threatening challenge of crossing the Buldi River, often swollen during the monsoon, to reach schools in Bhadgau. Initiated by residents under the leadership of Vyas Municipality’s founding mayor, Tara Prasad Shrestha, the school originally started as a branch of Jaldevi Primary School. It received formal independent recognition on December 23, 1977, and grew through the dedicated contributions and door-to-door enrollment campaigns led by its founding educators.
A significant turning point was the adoption of a full English-medium curriculum, which triggered a surge in enrollment and academic performance. The school gained national recognition by securing the top position in the Western Development Region based on SLC results multiple times (2000, 2009, 2010, and 2013). Expanding its horizon, the school introduced the Science (2011) and Management streams (2013) in Higher Secondary levels since 2011. The school pioneered the Computer Engineering program at the school level (Grades 9–12) in 2013 AD, one of the first of its kind in the region, offering the course with specialized science and computer labs, along with smart classrooms, supporting an engaging and hands-on learning experience.
In recognition of its consistent quality, the Ministry of Education designated Satyawati as a 'Model School' in 2017 (2074 BS). Its commitment to global standards is further evidenced by receiving the International School Award (ISA) from the British Council (2020–2023) and the prestigious ICT Award.
The school boasts five modern buildings with over 60 well-furnished rooms, creating a well-resourced and inspiring learning environment. From Early Childhood Development (ECD) to Grade 12, Satyawati Secondary School offers a comprehensive education program with accessible fee structures and scholarships for underprivileged and high-performing students. The medium of instruction is English from Nursery to Grade 12, ensuring global language proficiency for all students.
Today, it is a home to a vibrant community of over 2,500 students, the school emphasizes holistic development through a wide range of extra-curricular activities, sports, educational tours, and student counseling services. Satyawati Secondary School also features multimedia resources, journals, and facilities for conferencing and collaborative learning.
With a clear vision, mission, and goals, the school follows a learner-centered, value-based, and ICT-assisted teaching approach.
