Satyabadi Secondary School stands as a monumental pillar of education in Western Nepal. Established in 1906 AD (1963 BS) by the visionary National Hero, Jay Prithvi Bahadur Singh, it holds the distinction of being the second public school in Nepal's history. Originally founded in Naxal, Kathmandu, the school was later relocated to the remote district of Bajhang to escape the suppression of the Rana regime, which feared that educating the masses would threaten their autocracy. Today, it remains a symbol of resilience and the first light of literacy for the Far-Western province.

The history of Satyabadi is built on extraordinary communal sacrifice. In an era when resources were scarce, the then-King of Bajhang, Ram Jung, famously pawned his royal crown (Shreepaych) to raise funds for the school’s expansion. This spirit of dedication has been carried forward by generations of educators and local leaders. From its early days of teaching traditional mathematics and humanism using textbooks authored by Jay Prithvi himself, the institution has evolved into a comprehensive educational hub that once attracted students from as far as Humla, Jumla, and Darchula.

Satyabadi Secondary School offers a diverse range of academic tracks designed to meet the needs of the 21st-century job market. In addition to the standard Plus Two (10+2) programs in Science, Management (Commerce), and Education, the school has a strong focus on technical and vocational training. Under the affiliation of CTEVT, it provides specialized courses such as the Diploma in Agriculture (Plant Science) .
