Shaheed Shukra Secondary School is an English-medium, community-based school located at Bagbazar, Kathmandu, in the heart of the capital city. Established on Shrawan 25, 2018 B.S., the school was founded by Chandra Kant Malla, the sister of national martyr Shukraraj Shastri, in honor of the country’s great freedom fighters and martyrs.
The school offers education from Early Childhood Development (ECD) to Grade 12, with a strong emphasis on skill-based and holistic education. Alongside a structured academic program, students actively participate in educational tours, excursions, field trips, scouting, inter-house competitions, and various co-curricular activities that promote leadership, teamwork, and personal growth. To prepare students for real-life challenges, the school also provides opportunities in vocational training, computer education, and fine arts.
Shaheed Shukra Secondary School ensures a safe and healthy learning environment supported by clean drinking water, proper sanitation, a well-equipped library, and laboratories. With the support of the Government of Nepal and the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation, the school provides midday meals to students from ECD to Grade 10. Scholarships and additional support are offered to deserving and outstanding students to encourage academic excellence. According to the 2081 IEMIS report published by the Center for Education and Human Resource Development, the school currently serves 365 students, reflecting its continued commitment to accessible and quality education.
