About Us

Shree Resunga Secondary School is a well-established community school located in Resunga Municipality Ward No. 2, Tamghas, Gulmi. Established in 2025 B.S., the school has built a strong academic legacy over the decades and currently offers education from Early Childhood Development (ECD) to Grade 12 through English medium instruction. Over the years, the school has steadily expanded its academic programs to meet the educational needs of students from diverse social and economic backgrounds.

At the foundational level, the school operates a school-based Early Childhood Development program aimed at preparing young children for formal schooling. Conducted in a child-friendly and supportive learning environment, the program helps children develop early learning habits and social skills before entering primary education. Approximately 70 children benefit from this program each year under the guidance of a dedicated ECD facilitator.

At the primary level, the school provides English medium education using teaching approaches aligned with students’ interests and learning capacities. Continuous Student Assessment practices are planned to be fully implemented to ensure regular monitoring of students’ academic progress and overall development. Due to high student enrollment, the need for additional class divisions has been identified; however, financial constraints have limited further expansion at this level. Computer education is introduced within the primary grades to support the development of basic digital literacy from an early stage.

At the secondary level, the school offers education from Grade 9 to Grade 12 through English medium instruction. Teaching and learning at this level emphasize academic rigor, subject-wise improvement, and the effective use of technology in education. Analysis of past SEE results indicates that the school has consistently achieved a strong pass rate and satisfactory average academic performance, particularly at Grade 10. Continuous efforts are being made to further enhance subject-wise achievement in the coming years.

In addition to general secondary education, the school offers technical education in Civil Engineering as part of its academic diversification strategy. As envisioned in the School Improvement Plan 2069 B.S., the Civil Engineering program was approved by the Government of Nepal and launched from Grade 9 in the academic session 2073 B.S. Approval to operate Grades 11 and 12 was subsequently granted by Resunga Municipality in 2075 B.S. The program has demonstrated strong academic outcomes, including a 100 percent pass rate in the Grade 12 examination in 2078 B.S. Currently, 98 students are enrolled in the Civil Engineering stream across Grades 9 to 12.

Most students at the school come from economically disadvantaged and lower- to middle-income families. The student population represents diverse social and ethnic backgrounds, contributing to an inclusive and equitable learning environment. Parental engagement is a notable strength of the school, with approximately 75 percent of parents actively participating in school activities and school development initiatives.

Geographically, the school is situated at an altitude of approximately 4,000 feet above sea level in a peaceful and academically conducive setting. Its proximity to the district headquarters, administrative offices, marketplaces, and road networks ensures convenient access for students from surrounding areas. Through its comprehensive academic offerings, technical education programs, and strong community involvement, Shree Resunga Secondary School continues to play a vital role in delivering quality and career-oriented education in Gulmi District.
