About Us

Shree Narendra Janata Secondary School is located in Sarangpada, Kamal Rural Municipality, Ward No. 1, Jhapa District. The school was established in 2024 BS under the leadership of Mr. Chandra Bahadur Bista, who was a member of the Talley Gaun Panchayat at that time. Other local guardians, including Mr. Dal Bahadur Karki and Mr. Bangat Bahadur Pokhrel, along with intellectuals Mr. Bhola Prasad Acharya and Mr. Rajkumar Shrestha, played important roles in establishing the school. Initially, classes were held in a thatched hut about 100 meters north of the school's current location, with Mr. Chandra Bahadur Bista serving as the chairperson and Mr. Bhola Acharya as the head teacher.

Two years later, a wooden building was constructed at the current location, and more classes were added, with Mr. Rajkumar Shrestha and Mr. Hombi Soren appointed as teachers. By 2029 BS, the school had expanded up to class 5. However, according to the National Education System Plan of 2028 BS, the school was limited to classes 1, 2, and 3 only, and this situation continued for three years. In the effort to upgrade it back to the lower secondary level, funds were collected in 2034 BS through Deusi, Bhailo, and other cultural programs, and classes from grade 4 were started again. By 2037 BS, the school was running up to class 7.

In 2038 BS, primary education from classes 1 to 5 became completely free, so the school had to depend only on fees from students in classes 6 and 7 to cover expenses. This financial pressure caused the school to be limited again to class 5. However, local guardians once again came forward with determination, and in 2039 BS, local social worker Mrs. Lakshmi Devi Pradhananga donated Rs 140,000 in memory of her son, the late Narendra Pradhanang. This generous donation, along with extensive community support, helped revive the school, which was then named Shree Narendra Janata Lower Secondary School and recognized by Primary Education Center No. 5, Jamu. In 2044 BS, the school was upgraded to secondary level, and in 2065 BS, classes 11 and 12 were started. The school has been operating continuously up to the present day, serving the educational needs of the local community.
