Naimisharanya Sanskrit Gurukulam was established with the vision of safeguarding our Vedic heritage. It is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of Vedic Sanatana Dharma and culture, and the dissemination of Sanskrit education to build a society rooted in high morality and noble values.
The journey began in 2013 (2070 BS) under the chairmanship of Mr. Mukunda Prasad Upadhyaya with the formation of the Gosainsthan Naimisharanya Area Development Committee in Banepa-6, Gosainsthan, Kavrepalanchok.
To sanctify the foundation, a grand ritual was organized involving an unbroken Havan (sacred fire ritual), the recitation of the 18 Mahapuranas and Upapuranas, and the chanting of the four Vedas. This spiritual undertaking concluded on the auspicious day of Mahashivaratri in 2014 (2071 BS).
The Gurukulam officially opened its doors on April 21, 2015 (Akshaya Tritiya, 2072 BS), inaugurated by the revered Saint Shiromani Swami Ramananda Giri Ji.
True to its mission, the Naimisharanya Area Development Committee currently operates the Gurukulam as a fully residential educational institution. We provide a balanced curriculum of Sanskrit and modern education for students from Grade 6 through Grade 12, ensuring the next generation is equipped with both ancient wisdom and contemporary knowledge.
