Biratnagar Metropolitan City is one of the 17 municipalities in Morang District of Koshi Province. As per the 2021 census, the metropolitan city has a total population of 243,927, comprising 121,954 males (50.0%) and 121,973 females (50.0%), with a literacy rate of 83.61%.
