Salient Features
Student Support Network
The school has a dedicated Student Network to help students. A coordinator and committee are available to address issues and complaints and support initiatives such as sanitary pad distribution. There are also specialized officers for handling complaints, providing information, and managing technology.
Extra Activities and Competitions
Kanti Secondary School helps students discover their talents. They train students in their areas of interest so they can win competitions at school, city, province, and even national levels. Activities include quiz contests, public speaking, debates, cricket, dance, volleyball, football, and singing.
Green and Beautiful Campus
Kanti Secondary School is a Green School. It has a large playground, gardens with flowers and water fountains, and many shady trees. The campus is clean and peaceful, providing an ideal environment for learning and play.
Hostel and Transportation
The school has separate hostels for boys and girls on campus, with capacity for about 100 students. For students who need it, the school also provides safe bus or van services to and from school.
Canteen and Information Wall
The school has a large, clean canteen (dining hall) where about 100 students can eat together simultaneously. There is also a glass information wall at the entrance with important notices and pictures for students and parents.
Clear Work Responsibilities
Everyone at Kanti Secondary School has a clear job. The Principal, Vice-Principal, coordinators, subject teachers, accounts, IT, store, hostel, and transport staff all know their specific duties. This keeps the school running smoothly.
Mid-Day Meals, Sanitary Pads & Toilets
- Mid-Day Meals: A healthy meal is provided daily. Teachers help manage this with a weekly menu made with the canteen.
- Sanitary Pads: These are distributed regularly to female students through the Student Network.
- Toilets: Separate, clean toilets with running water for boys and girls. Teachers and students use the same toilets; there are no separate ones only for teachers.
Morning Assembly Program
Every morning, students gather for assembly. This includes prayers, the national anthem, and student performances. It is also a time to present awards and celebrate achievements.
Birthday Celebrations
On a student's, teacher's, or staff member's birthday, the school celebrates them during the morning assembly by presenting a small gift, such as a book, fruit, or biscuits.
No Empty Classroom Policy
If a teacher is absent, the school immediately arranges for another qualified teacher to take the class. This ensures that no student's learning time is ever wasted in an empty classroom.
Fair Examination System
- Exams are held every three months (trimester).
- If a student does poorly in a subject, they get a second chance. The topic is retaught, and they can retake the exam to improve their score.
- In the annual exams, answer sheets are checked by a different teacher (not their own) and reviewed by another teacher to ensure fairness.
Extra Help Classes
For students who need more support than regular classes provide, the school offers extra help classes to improve their understanding of difficult subjects.
SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
The school has a special fund for scholarships. The money comes from people who support education. Each year, hundreds of students in need receive scholarships from this fund.
