Kanjirowa National Secondary School

Koteshwor, Kathmandu

Kanjirowa National Secondary School (KNSS) is an independent co-educational institution that provides education in a resourceful, friendly, and caring environment. The school was established in 1998 as Kathmandu Don Bosco H. S. School in New Baneshwar. It is run by a team of professionals with extensive national and international experience in education.

Currently located in Koteshwar, the school is widely recognized for its institutional growth, dynamic curriculum, innovative teaching methods, learner-friendly environment, and enriched co-curricular activities.

The learning process is the most distinctive feature at Kanjirowa. New teaching approaches and programs are regularly introduced to keep education fresh and effective. Students are involved in various Project-Based Learning Activities designed for their all-around development. In all these activities, teachers serve as facilitators, guiding students rather than simply instructing them.

The school aims to make students autonomous, lifelong learners who excel not only in academics but in all aspects of life. Curriculum and Pedagogy

The school firmly believes that no real learning takes place unless the learner desires to learn. Therefore, the curriculum is designed to help students explore and exploit their own learning process and create deep desires to learn. At the conceptual level, the school follows the Experiential Learning Model based on Constructionism. Our curriculum and pedagogy incorporate many PROJECTS to provide an environment for 'learn through reflection on doing' as a continuous activity across every subject.

Instead of learning being a teacher-led delivery of knowledge, the teacher and students construct knowledge together; learners can question, critique, and contribute creatively, making the learning experience a way of life. KNSS emphasizes the learning process so that our children enjoy participating in it and learn by building on their prior knowledge of the subjects. Our dynamic curriculum and pedagogy help them to be physically, spiritually, and morally sound.

Alongside this, opportunities for interaction with experts from different fields are provided to enhance students' confidence and knowledge of various national and international issues. The students work individually and in a team. Both situations are important for the learning process. They are encouraged to work with every other student in class to ensure they contribute to the learning process and develop a habit of co-operation and the value of democratic exercises.
