About Us

Asia Pacific School (APS) provides an inspiring, inclusive, and challenging learning environment while celebrating academic excellence. The school encourages and supports its students to become successful, global-minded, and enthusiastic lifelong learners who confidently take advantage of future opportunities and strive to make a difference.

In collaboration with teachers, staff, and parents, APS supports students in fully developing their potential within a motivating, multilingual, and international learning environment. The institution fosters a learning culture in which all learners are fully engaged in holistic, meaningful, and innovative experiences within a caring, collaborative community, bolstered by active partnerships with families.

The school’s emphasis is on providing value-based education in an intellectually stimulating environment, imparted by professionals trained in progressive teaching-learning approaches. APS helps transform young learners into knowledgeable, confident, responsible, and proactive individuals with international-mindedness and a passion for continuous growth.

Ultimately, the school aims to prepare individuals to face the challenges of a complex and interconnected global community, rooted in the belief that learning is essential for developing life skills. Its future-focused, integrated approach emphasizes a wide range of content-specific knowledge, drawing on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking. This project-based methodology allows students to gain a broader knowledge base across STEAM subjects through a transdisciplinary approach.

Asia Pacific School (APS) provides a comprehensive educational framework from Grade I to XII based on the National Curriculum of Nepal. To ensure effective pedagogical delivery and student monitoring, the institution’s academic programs are divided into five specialized wings:

  • Pre-school: Play Group to Senior Kindergarten
  • Basic School (Elementary): Grade 1 to 5
  • Basic School (Upper Elementary): Grade 6 to 8
  • High School: Grade 9 to 10
  • High School: Grade 11 to 12

Each wing is managed by a competent academic administrator under the supervision of the Vice Principal, Academic Head, and Principal.

Pre-school (Kindergarten)

The Kindergarten program follows a Montessori and Creative Problem Solving (CPS) based system. The curriculum is designed to help children develop social, linguistic, and interactive skills through natural learning and structured, hands-on activities. The mission of this wing is to nurture each child's potential in a supportive environment, ensuring they are well-prepared for the transition to elementary education.

Elementary and Upper Elementary School

In alignment with the Education Act of Nepal, basic education spans from Grade I to VIII. APS bifurcates this level into the Elementary wing (Grades I–V) and the Upper Elementary wing (Grades VI–VIII) to provide developmentally appropriate instruction.

The Elementary program follows the National Curriculum, enriched by international standards. Teaching methods include collaborative group work, individual tasks, and whole-class discussions. While core subjects include English, Nepali, and Mathematics, a thematic approach integrates Science, Social Studies, Computer Studies, Physical Education, and the Arts. In the Upper Elementary level, the curriculum expands to include Occupation, Business, and Technological Education (OBTE), Moral Studies, and Health and Hygiene.

Key Highlights of the Elementary Program:

  • Daily practice of language and mathematical skills.
  • A thematic approach to Social Studies and Science.
  • Collaborative and team-teaching models.
  • Integration of international learning perspectives.
  • Community service initiatives starting from Grade III.

Secondary School

The Secondary School encompasses Grades 9-12. Students prepare for the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) at the end of Grade 10, as conducted by the National Examination Board. In Grades 9 and 10, the school offers the government-stipulated curriculum alongside two optional subjects. Additionally, APS provides foreign language electives in Spanish, French, and Mandarin.

Vision

The vision of Asia Pacific School is to prepare dynamic, caring, world-class citizens of tomorrow to meet the challenges of global society while retaining their good traditional values via a vibrant teaching and learning environment.

Students are expected to be respectful and responsible, rising to meet the various challenges of life. To support this growth, the school upholds the following core values:

  • Accountability
The school encourages learners to take responsibility for their own intellectual, social, personal, and emotional development, as well as their overall physical well-being.

Learners are encouraged to take pride in their school and community while understanding, appreciating, and respecting diversity and the significance of various cultures, traditions, and perspectives.

The school embraces change to adapt to an ever-evolving environment. It believes in the power of inquiry driven by curiosity, which serves as a foundation for lifelong learning. By fostering these traits, the institution prepares learners to become effective problem-solvers who are deeply engaged with the world around them. Throughout this journey, learners are consistently supported and challenged to reach their full potential.
