The government of Nepal allocates 712 seats for candidates who want to pursue a Bachelor in Public Health (BPH) in Nepal. In 2026, the government allocated 201 scholarship seats for students who wish to study BPH in Nepal.
Available scholarship seats are divided into general scholarships (111 seats) and reserved scholarships (90 seats). In both categories, candidates are selected purely on the basis of merit within this cluster.
For example, for the general scholarship, the 109 highest-ranking students in the MECEE-BL for the BPH exam are selected, regardless of gender, religion, or ethnicity. For the reservation, the competition will be only among the eligible clusters of students in each sub-category. For example, 26 female students will be selected to study BSc Nursing based on the merit list.
Public Health Colleges affiliated with four Universities (TU, Purbanchal University, Pokhara, and Rajarshi Janak University) and three health science academies ( KAHS, MBAHS, and MIHS) offer BPH programs in Nepal.
