The government of Nepal allocates 108 seats for candidates who wish to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Medical Imaging Technology (BSc MIT) in Nepal. For 2026, the government allocated 34 scholarship seats for students who wish to study BSc MIT in Nepal.
Available scholarship seats are divided into general scholarships (17 seats) and reserved scholarships (17 seats). In both categories, the candidates are selected based on ranking within this cluster.
For example, for the general scholarship, the 20 highest-ranking students in the MECEE-BL for the Bachelor of Science in Medical Imaging Technology (BSc MIT) exam are chosen, irrespective of gender, religion, and ethnicity. For the reservation, the competition will be only among the eligible clusters of students in each sub-category. For example, the four highest-ranking female students are selected to study BSc MIT on the reservation seats allocated for females.
Currently, four academic institutions, TU, KU, BPKIHS, and NAMS, offer a Bachelor's in Imaging Technology in Nepal.
