The Department of Information and Broadcasting (DoIB) under the Ministry of Information and Communication has invited applications for its annual journalism scholarship program for the fiscal year 2082/83. This initiative aims to support undergraduate students pursuing degrees in Journalism and Mass Communication across Nepal.
According to a notice published on Poush 17, 2082, the department will grant scholarships to a total of 14 students. The selection process is designed to be inclusive, with seats reserved for various marginalized and minority groups to ensure diverse representation in the field of Nepali media.

- Application Submission Deadline: 15 days from the date of notice published i.e ( January 15, 2026 ofr by the first week of Magh, 2082)

Scholarship Allocation (Total 14 Students):
- Open: 5 students
- Female: 3 students
- Dalit: 1 student
- Indigenous/Janajati: 1 student
- Madhesi: 1 student
- Muslim: 1 student
- Differently-abled (Apropy): 1 student
- (h) Backward Area: 1 student
Eligibility:
To be eligible, applicants must have completed their Proficiency Certificate Level (PCL) or 10+2 specifically with Journalism as a major subject. Candidates must also be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program.
Required documentation:
- A certified copy of the Nepali Citizenship Certificate.
- Academic transcripts and character certificates from the 10+2/PCL level.
- A formal recommendation letter from their current college confirming their enrollment and year of study.
- Supporting documents for those applying under inclusive/reserved categories.
- Passport-sized photograph.
