Domestic Army Welfare Scholarships (सैनिक कल्याणकारी छात्रवृत्ति, स्वदेश) is offered by the Welfare Directorate of the Nepal Army. Application Details

Scholarship Details
- Each student will receive an annual lump sum of Rs. 25,000 (twenty-five thousand).
- The scholarship is available for the sons and daughters of current and retired Nepali Army soldiers.
- Applicants must have completed grades 4 through 12 during that session.
- Applicants must not exceed 21 years of age.
Students Eligible for Scholarship
- The applicant must be the offspring of either serving or retired soldiers from the Nepali Army.
- Only one child (son/daughter) per beneficiary is eligible to receive the scholarship.
- Children who completed grades 4 through 12 during the academic session 2081 are eligible for this benefit.
- Students attending community/government schools must have attained a minimum of 40% (GPA 1.6), while those in institutional private schools must achieve at least 50% (GPA 2.0) in the annual examination of 2081. Grades must be clearly indicated in the merit certificate; if grades are in A+ or D, percentages or GPAs should be provided.
- Enrollment should be in schools and colleges recognized by the Government of Nepal. For educational institutions operating outside Nepal, recognition by the Nepali government and relevant documents must be submitted.
- In the case of active soldiers, only registered descendants (sons/daughters) through HR Digitization of the Nepali Army are eligible.
- Eligible beneficiaries include both current and retired soldiers certified by the Directorate of Ceremonies as injured during previous conflicts and in need of support, as well as descendants of soldiers who died in the line of duty during fire control in Ramechhap district or in the landslide in Ramche, Rasuwa district. If one child is studying in an educational institution or Empanelled school managed by the Military Welfare Fund, in that case, one additional child can apply, and if no children are enrolled in an educational institution or Empanelled school, two children may apply.
- In the case of twin children, one may attend a military educational institution at a concessional rate while the other attends at the full fee.
- Adoption of a child as a son or daughter of a Nepali Army member or retired general must comply with Nepalese laws.
Students not Eligible for Scholarship
- Students enrolled in educational institutions operated under the welfare fund during the academic session 2081, including schools, colleges, and those under the Nepali Army Institute of Health Sciences. (Those attending these institutions tuition-free, except for fully or partially subsidized fees, or those enrolled through non-military quotas, must provide a recommendation letter confirming they did not receive subsidized education)
- Students benefiting from the "Pradhan Senapati Scholarship" distributed through the welfare fund. (Families of individuals who perished in acts of heroism or duty are ineligible for this scholarship. Note: Families eligible for the "Pradhan Senapati Scholarship" must apply within the specified deadline.)
- Only one child of beneficiaries currently benefiting from educational institutions under an Empaneled agreement.
- Individuals dismissed from service for various reasons during their tenure and who did not receive welfare family concessions are not permitted to apply for the welfare scholarship.
- Students studying in foreign schools located outside Nepal.
- If one child has received this scholarship for Grade 12 in the previous academic years, applications for additional children cannot be submitted, as this scholarship is available for only one child per couple.

- When submitting the aforementioned documents, it is imperative to provide a clear disclosure of details such as name, date of birth, and marks obtained as per the mark sheet.
- To apply for the scholarship, certain certified documents must be submitted, such as proof of injury sustained during previous conflicts (issued by the Ceremony Management Directorate), an identification letter, or proof of identity for soldiers who perished in the line of duty during fire control in Ramechhap district or in the Ramche landslide in Rasuwa district. In the case of adoption as a religious son/daughter, applicants should submit the name of the adopted individual along with the adoption date (even if only the year is specified), and a recommendation letter verifying the adoption status. For those affected by the 2072 earthquake in the designated 14 districts, the application requires a recommendation letter from the respective ward/village/municipality, an identity card for earthquake victims with complete damage, and, for twin children, a recommendation letter from the college confirming non-enrollment.
