The Medical Education Commission (MEC) has officially finalized and published the categorized seat allocation for all Bachelor-Level Medical Education Common Entrance Examination (MECEE-BL 2026) programs for the upcoming academic session (2082/83 B.S. or 2025/2026 A.D.).
The government of Nepal has increased the number of MBBS seats to 2635 from the earlier allocation of 2140 seats. Similarly, the new MBBS scholarship seat is 691, and the reservation seat is 311.
The Government of Nepal had increased the seats for MBBS and BDS programs on August 14, 2025, which proportionately raised the number of scholarship seats. However, the seats for public medical colleges and health science academies were not finalized during that time.

The government of Nepal has increased the number of seats to 2,635 from the earlier number of 2,140 for candidates who want to pursue MBBS in Nepal. In 2025, the government increased the number of scholarship seats from 571 to 691 for students wishing to study MBBS in Nepal.

Available scholarship seats are divided into general scholarships (380 seats) and reserved scholarships (311 seats). In both categories, the candidates are selected purely based on ranks within this cluster.

Medical Colleges affiliated with two Universities (Kathmandu University and Tribhuvan University) and four health science academies (PAHS, KAHS, MBAHS, and BPKIHS) offer MBBS programs in Nepal.
