The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC), in partnership with the Urban Planning Commission, has opened applications for its "Metropolitan Research Fellowship Program 2082," inviting Nepali researchers to contribute to the city's future urban development and policy-making.
The program aims to bridge the gap between academic research and urban governance. KMC is seeking evidence-based and action-oriented research to address the complex challenges of Nepal’s capital. The fellowship is part of KMC's ongoing effort to modernize municipal operations through expert insights and structured planning.
The initiative focuses on two primary areas:
- Policy Research: Generating data to create "Evidence-Based Policies" that can guide the holistic development of the metropolitan area.
- Action-Oriented Research: Identifying and designing specific projects that can be implemented to improve urban infrastructure and service delivery.
