The Kathmandu Metropolitan City has selected a total of 16,137 students to participate in the entrance exam under the scholarship quota in institutional schools for Grades 11 and 12 for the academic session 2082/083. These students were selected from a total of 17,229 applications received from all 77 districts nationwide.
A total of 1,092 applications were rejected due to missing documents, including proof of identity (citizenship or birth certificate), proof of studying in a public school, proof of receiving a scholarship if previously enrolled in an institutional school, or proof of permanent residence within the Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
According to the Education Department, among the selected students, 11,590 are for the Science stream, 4,164 for Management, 32 for Humanities, 95 for Education, and 256 for the Law stream. Notification regarding selection has already been sent to the selected students via email and phone.
Earlier Notice Regarding Admit Card Distribution
The Education Department of Kathmandu Metropolitan City has updated the date for the distribution of the admit cards for the scholarship exam, which will be held on Shrawan 3, 2082. Previously, the department had stated that admit card distribution would begin on Ashadh 30, 2082. Following this change, many students have been raising queries regarding downloading the admit cards.
According to Laxmi Poudel, education officer at the department, the metropolitan city had been working on distributing the admit cards from Shrawan 1. Poudel said, "Distribution of admit cards is delayed as the number of students applying for the scholarship is higher than expected. Also, the verification of the applications received is still underway."
A total of 17,229 students from across the country have applied for scholarships to be provided by Kathmandu Metropolitan City to students in grades 11 and 12 of institutional schools for the academic session 2082/083.
According to the Metropolitan City's Education Department, the highest number of applications received, 71 percent or 12,337 people, have chosen science subjects. 4,481 have applied in management, 34 in humanities, 104 in education, and 273 in law. Among them, 10,087 were from community schools and 7,142 were from institutional schools.

Students can print their admit cards themselves from 1st Shrawan, 2082 onwards. To do so, they must click the 'Print Admit card button' from www.kathmandu.gov.np and enter the requested details. Exam center details will be included on the admit card.
The selection exam for the scholarship will be conducted on Shrawan 3 from 8 am to 10 am. The exam will be based on the syllabus of Class 10. In the exam, 30/30 multiple-choice questions will be asked from Mathematics, Science, and English, and 10 marks from General Knowledge, for a total of 100 marks.
A minimum of 40 percent marks is required to pass the exam, and there will be no negative marking for incorrect answers. The main objective is to ensure access to quality education for financially weak but talented students and brighten their educational future.

Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Education Department, Municipal Office, Kamaladi, Kathmandu announces scholarship notice for the students who wish to study in Institutional Schools (Private Schools) under the scholarship quota in Class 11 for the academic session 2082/83.
The placement will be done in the institutional schools under the Kathmandu Metropolitan City. Students are requested to enroll only after the scholarship results are published. It is informed that students who enroll before the results are published cannot be facilitated for scholarship acquisition.

Distribution of Scholarships Seats
Considering the 10% scholarship provided by institutional schools as 100%, scholarships will be distributed as follows:
- 40% for students who have studied in community schools.
- 5% for students who have studied in institutional schools on a scholarship.
- 9% for all students who have permanent residency within Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
- 1% for students residing in the landfill site-affected areas and studying in schools within that area.

Exam information: There will be 100 multiple-choice questions based on the subjects and areas covered in the examination based on the Secondary Level Class 10 curriculum.
It will consist of 30/30 questions from compulsory subjects such as Mathematics, Science, and English, and 10 questions from General Knowledge. To pass the scholarship examination, a minimum of 40% marks must be obtained. There will be no negative marking for wrong answers.
The total duration of the exam will be two hours. Applicants won't be able to apply to more than one program.
Minimum Eligibility for Application for Ktm Metro Grade 11-12 Scholarship
- Having a minimum GPA of 1.6 in the Secondary Education Examination (SEE).
- Completion of SEE from a community school.
- Completion of SEE through studying with a scholarship of 10% in institutional schools.
- Permanent residence in Ward No. 1, 2, 3 of the directly affected area from Landfield Side, and Ward No. 1, 3, 4 of Dhunibeshi Rural Municipality.

- SEE or equivalent mark sheet and character certificate
- Recommendation as per Schedule 1 for students studying in community schools
- Recommendation as per Schedule 2 for students studying on scholarships in institutional schools
- Required documents for reservation purposes
- Certificate as per section 7 mentioned in the reserved group in the form for scholarship purposes
