The Embassy of India, Kathmandu, has extended the deadline for online applications for the Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme (GJSS) for Nepali nationals studying in Nepal.  The extended date to submit the application to the portal www.goischolarship.com.np. is 20 November 2025. The portal will remain open to receive the applications till 11.59 hrs. on 20 November 2025.

The Embassy of India, Kathmandu invites online applications for Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme (GJSS) from Nepali nationals studying in Nepal. 

The Online Application may be submitted through the web portal  www.goischolarship.com.np. The portal will be closed at 00:00 hours on November 3, 2025.

Important Dates 

  1. Application Opens: October 06, 2025
  2. Last date to Apply: November 02, 2025, up to 23:59 hrs.

Students need not visit the Embassy, but have to submit all the documents online, which will be verified by the Embassy itself.

Eligibility

  1. Candidate should be a regular Undergraduate student of 1st year (not Diploma) in any recognized educational institute of Nepal. Proof of the student studying in the first year of the Bachelor Course and not receiving a scholarship from any other source, duly attested by the Principal/Head of Institute, to be uploaded.
  2. Candidate must have secured at least 70% aggregate marks in Class 12 (excluding Class 11 marks). Mark Sheet of Class 12 to be uploaded.
  3. Age Limit:- The Age of the Applicant must be between 17 and 22 years as on 1st July 2026.
  4. The candidate must be a citizen of Nepal. Citizenship Certificate of self and parents (both mother and father) to be uploaded.
  5. In case of a physically challenged Candidate, a certificate issued by an officer of the Government of Nepal (Local/District Administration Office, etc.) to be uploaded.
  6. The family income of the Candidate must be less than NPR 2,00,000/- per annum. The latest income certificate issued by an officer of the Government of Nepal (Local/District Administration Office, etc.) is to be uploaded.

How to apply: 


Applicants meeting the eligibility criteria may submit an online application on the portal http://www.goischolarship.com.np/ along with the requisite documents. The portal will be activated at the time of the opening of the scheme only.

Required Documents :

  1. A passport-sized photo to be uploaded with the form.
  2. Duly notarized Citizenship certificate of self/parents;
  3. Mark sheet of class 12th.
  4. A duly attested letter from the Principal/ Head of the School/Institute certifying that the applicant is studying in a graduate/degree course.
  5. Income Proof certificate issued by LDO/CDO, etc.
  6. In respect of physically challenged applicants, a certificate/proof issued by the CDO/LDO/Municipality Head in this regard. 

2. Scholarship Amount and Duration

The selected candidates will get the scholarship amount as detailed below:

  • The scholarship will continue in the second and subsequent years only on submission of the following documents:

(i) A copy of mark sheet(s) of each year; 

(ii) Present status certificate of promotion to and study in next year/semester of the opted course with PERCENTAGE (an AGGREGATE Percentage in case of Semester System) obtained in the previous year, duly authenticated by Principal/Head of Institute.

The scholarship awardees may submit the above-mentioned documents latest by December 31 each year via Email on mail ID “attacheedu.kathmandu@mea.gov.in”. Further installments of scholarship will be deposited in the bank a/c (opened by the Embassy in the name of the scholarship awardee) only on receipt of the requisite documents. If the documents are not received in the given time-frame, the scholarship will be terminated.

Please note:

  1. Applicants receiving scholarships from any other sources are not eligible for these scholarship schemes.
  2. Applicants should correctly indicate their Name, Address, Email ID, Contact Numbers, Marks, etc. while submitting the applications on the portal, and should also upload their recent passport-size colour photograph in a white background along with legible/readable documents on the portal in order to avoid rejection of their applications.
  3. Candidates should keep their Email ID and its Password in safe custody for future correspondence/reference as all the communications (e.g. verification of original documents, information regarding selection of the candidate, opening of bank A/C for depositing the scholarship amount, guidelines, reminders etc.) by the Embassy will be sent to the registered Email only.
  4. Before filling in the Online Application Form, the Candidates are advised to read the instructions/guidelines thoroughly, as there is no scope for modification of the application in the online system after final submission of the form. The candidates should ensure the final submission of the form by generating an acknowledgement receipt.
  5. Any document sent by Email/Post, after the due date of submission of the Application Form, will not be considered.
  6. Candidates are advised to interact/communicate solely with the Education Wing of the Embassy of India, Kathmandu.
  7. The MGSS scholarship awardees who did not pass in the 11th grade and the GJSS scholarship awardees who did not pass in the first year or subsequent years (both semesters) of their Bachelor Course will not be entitled to scholarship from that year onwards.
  8. The Embassy reserves the right to accept or reject any application and continue or discontinue the scholarship. 

Important Information:
The Embassy of India entertains applications directly from the applicants. It does not recognize or receive applications through any Education Consultants/Middlemen/Agencies in Nepal. Students are advised to beware of such unscrupulous agencies/persons. Applications found to have been received through such agencies/persons are liable to be rejected.
