Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank Limited is pleased to announce a research grant opportunity for scholars pursuing “MPhil programs in Management or Economics”. This initiative aims to promote high-quality research that advances knowledge in financial management, organizational performance, and economic development, particularly in emerging markets.
Objective
The grant is intended to support research that:
- Explores management and economic challenges in emerging markets.
- Investigates the impact of digital transformation, innovation, and financial practices on organizational and economic performance.
- Provides actionable insights for banks, policymakers, and the wider economic community.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be enrolled in a recognized “ MPhil program” in Management or Economics at Nepalese University.
- Research proposals should align with the grant's thematic focus.
- Application should be recommended by university or respective college regarding financial assistance for research grant.
- All articles must be based solely on the author’s personal knowledge, experience, research, and understanding. Any use of artificial intelligence (AI) or algorithmic models in the preparation of an article shall result in automatic disqualification.
- The research topic should revolve around Banking and the Economy.
Research Topic and Areas:
The research topic must fall under one or more of the following thematic areas:
- Banking and Economy, Banking Products, Innovation, Digital Banking, Customer Satisfaction, Consumer Protection, Human Resource Management, Loan Loss Provision, Non-Banking Assets, Asset Quality, Capital Requirements, ECL and Basel III, Monetary and Fiscal Policy, Information Security, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Data Analytics, and Software Engineering.
- Research studies should cover both national and international perspectives and be based on reliable, verifiable data. The research should be innovative in nature and generate practical insights that are useful for banks in their decision-making processes within the respective topic areas.
Grant Details
- Funding will cover research-related expenses, including data collection, travel, and dissemination activities
- Total grant amount and duration will be determined based on the proposal’s scope and feasibility. However, the grant amount shall not exceed NPR 100,000.00 per student.
Submission Guidelines
Applicants must submit a concept note with an abstract (5-7 pages) including:
- Proposed title and research objectives
- Background and rationale
- Methodology
- Expected outcomes and significance
- Tentative timeline and budget
- Concept notes should be submitted to bcc@kamanasewabank.com by 14th March 2026.
Selection Criteria and Process
Proposals will be evaluated by a committee, including independent experts and senior leadership from Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank, based on relevance, originality, feasibility, and potential impact on policy and practice
