Kathmandu Model College (KMC), located in Bagbazar, Kathmandu, successfully held its 22nd Convocation Ceremony on Friday, Mangsir 04 at the Hotel Best Western Plus Pingalasthan, Gaushala.
The ceremony was chaired by Rameshwor Aryal, Chairman of Kathmandu Model College and KMC Educational Network. Approximately 150 students who had completed their Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Kathmandu Model College were conferred with their respective degrees.
In his welcome remarks, Principal Mr. Surendra Subedi praised the graduates as the college's Brand Ambassadors and expressed lasting pride in their achievements. He also emphasized the importance of avoiding the arrogance of knowledge. Following his speech, he formally administered the Oath of Honour to the students.

Key Highlights and Awards
The ceremony, attended by various dignitaries, featured Dr. Tshering Lama, Co-founder of Idea Studio Nepal (ISN), as the Chief Guest. Dr. Lama advised all graduating students to connect the knowledge they have studied and the skills they have acquired with their nation and nationality, and to move forward with a refined culture for a prosperous future. He also noted that there are immense opportunities within the country if students utilize their acquired knowledge and skills appropriately, and he offered his best wishes for their bright future.
Students who made various contributions during their studies at the college, especially those involved in the Student Quality Circle and various clubs, were also honoured.
KMC Academic Excellence Award: The college honoured the following students with a certificate and a cash prize of Rs 25,000 each:
- BBA: Ms. Esther Ghimire
- BBM: Ms. Anisha Tamang
- BCA: Ms. Shraddha Dangol
- BA: Ms. Prajita Pradhan
- BBS: Ms. Shely Ghale
- MA: Mr. Reji Manandhar
Best Undergraduate Research Award: The following students were honoured with a certificate, an award, and a cash prize of Rs 25,000 each:
- BBS: Ms. Rebika Dangol
- BBM: Mr. Samir Bhusal
- BBA: Ms. Akriti Tamang
KMC Excellence Award:
Mr. Nishan Poudel (BBA) was honored for his outstanding academic performance, active participation in club activities, and his leadership as an Executive Member of the Student Quality Circle. In recognition of his numerous contributions to the college, he was awarded a certificate, a trophy, and a cash prize of NPR 30,300.
Best Postgraduate Research Award: Mr. Bimalendra Rai (MA) was honoured with a certificate, an award, and a cash prize of Rs 25,000.
Conducted by the college's IQAC Chief, Mr. Dhruba Prasad Timalsina, the ceremony was well attended, reflecting broad institutional support. Prominent figures included college directors- Associate Professor Mr. Ajay Prasad Dhakal, Associate Professor Mr. Kishor Gautam, Dr. Dhruva Bhattarai, the CEO of MIT College, Mr. R.K. Dahal, and departmental heads- Mr. Sagar Kharel, Mr. Nabin Kumar Pandey, Mr. Binod Paudel, and Mr. Alisraj Rajopadhyay. The comprehensive attendance of the teaching faculty and guardians further underscored the event's importance.
Established in 2060 BS, Kathmandu Model College has been running different programs affiliated with Tribhuvan University, including MBS, MA English, BBA, BBM, BBS, BCA, and BA with subjects like English, Social Work, and Psychology. The college has received Quality Assurance Accreditation (QAA) from the University Grants Commission (UGC) and has also been honoured by the Ministry of Education, Government of Nepal, as the Best Educational Institution among private colleges nationwide.
