Embark College, located in Pulchowk, Kathmandu, has introduced two major new programs: the 'Apprenticeship / Work Study Program' (Practical Skills Training Study) and the 'Startup Capability Development Program'. The initiatives aim to tackle Nepal's educational and employment challenges. These programs are designed to develop future business leaders, secure employment for graduates, and promote entrepreneurship.
According to Ashish Thakur, Executive Director and CEO of Embark College, the programs will help graduates transition from academia to the professional world. "By directly linking vocational education with industry, we've set a new standard for career-ready education in Nepal," he said.
Apprenticeship Program: From Campus to Career
The apprenticeship program guarantees employment for qualified graduates by forging partnerships with leading Nepali industries. Participating companies will offer jobs based on a detailed Training Needs Assessment (TNA). The program’s features include a structured curriculum, professional mentorship, regular evaluations, and long-term partnership agreements, which benefit both industry and students. The college is confident this model will provide a skilled workforce for companies and a secure career path for students.
Application Process for the Apprenticeship Program:
- A skills assessment
- Submission of academic and skill-based documents certified by Embark College
- A professional evaluation via a structured interview

Startup Program: Fostering Homegrown Innovation
Embark College’s new startup program targets innovative, legally registered businesses that have been operating for less than 10 years and have an annual turnover below 15 crore. The program aligns with the Government of Nepal’s National Startup Policy 2080 and the Industrial Enterprise Act 2076. The college, offering programs like BSc. in Business Management, MBA, and ACCA, will prioritize startups that show strong innovation, scalability, and market impact.
"Nepal has immense entrepreneurial potential, but access to strategic resources is limited," stated CEO Thakur. "Our program focuses on holistic development to turn innovation into sustainable businesses." This initiative is expected to reduce Nepal's reliance on imports while boosting domestic technological capacity.
Application Process for the Startup Program:
- A legal registration certificate and financial statements
- A business plan that demonstrates innovation
- A due diligence review
Both programs are expected to contribute to building a prosperous entrepreneurial ecosystem in line with the government’s policies.
