Bridging Theory and Practice: KMC Organizes Management Simulation for the Students of BBA/BBM 8th Semester

Kathmandu Model College successfully conducted a two-day “Management Simulation” program for BBA/BBM eighth-semester students. Held under the theme “Simulate the Strategy, Master the Management,” the program provided students with an opportunity to enhance their practical management skills.

The chief guest of the program, Prof. Dr. Mahananda Chalise, the Dean of the Faculty of Management, Tribhuwan University, emphasized the importance of such simulation-based learning in transforming theoretical management education into practical application. He encouraged students to develop decision-making abilities, leadership qualities, and strategic thinking.

The event was attended by the Executive Director of the Association. Prof. Ajay Prasad Dhakal, College Chief Surendra Subedi, BBA/BBM Program Head Sagar Kharel, MBS Program Head Nabin Kumar Pandey, BA/BBS Program Head Alish Raj Rajopadhyay, along with faculty members teaching in the eighth semester. Speaking at the program, College Chief Surendra Subedi expressed confidence that practice-oriented initiatives help bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world experience, highlighting the college’s commitment to the holistic development of its students.

The simulation sessions were facilitated by Rochak Bohora, founder of Cyan Innovations, and co-founder Rekha Wagle. During the program, students engaged in simulated business environments, practicing strategic planning, decision-making processes, and teamwork.

The first day of the program was held on the college premises, while the second day was held at the Kathmandu Marriott Hotel. The second day featured case studies on Bhat-Bhateni Big Mart, allowing students to analyze and make strategic decisions in Nepal’s real business environment. Marketing Head Parash Jung Kadel expressed confidence that such practical programs would serve as milestones in students’ professional journeys by helping them apply managerial knowledge in real-life situations.

Highlighting the importance of such practice-oriented programs in developing the skills and competencies required for students’ future professional lives, IQAC Head Dhurba Prasad Timalsina stated that the college is continuously working toward improving and strengthening all its academic activities to ensure they are of high quality, relevant, and aligned with international standards, thereby making them competitive in the global market.

Similarly, BBA/BBM Program Head Sagar Kharel shared that the college has been consistently organizing workshops and training programs beyond the prescribed curriculum to meet market demands, and this simulation program is a continuation of that effort.

Representing the students, BBM eighth-semester student Bigul Sapkota expressed gratitude to the college, stating that such practical workshops have significantly contributed to making students globally competitive and professionally capable. All faculty members teaching in the eighth semester served as mentors throughout the simulation program.
