Kathmandu, Nepal — Demonstrating its strong commitment to social responsibility and student well-being, New Summit School organized a free Dental and Eye Check-Up Camp for its students and members of the surrounding community. The health initiative also benefitted students from a neighboring community school, strengthening ties between the institution and the local community.
The camp was held on Falgun 4, 2082 (Monday). The comprehensive health camp was conducted in partnership with KIST Dental Hospital and Eye Club, whose teams of experienced professionals carried out thorough dental and vision screenings.

More than 200 students benefited from the eye screening camp alone, while many others received dental check-ups and consultations. The initiative aimed to detect early signs of dental and vision concerns and provide timely guidance to parents on next steps if required.
Chairperson Mr. Ajay Dhakal emphasized the school’s dedication to community welfare. “As we are clear about our social responsibility, we will always be conducting such programs where children and other members of the community will benefit,” he stated. He further highlighted that health and education must go hand in hand for the holistic development of children.
Principal Mr. Rupendra Pokhrel echoed similar sentiments, stressing the importance of student health alongside academic growth. “Since our students spend long hours at school, we are deeply concerned about their academic performance and their health as well. Dental and eye health are both very important for our children. Such screening camps will be organized frequently at school,” he said.
New Summit School follows a blended curriculum that integrates the Government of Nepal curriculum with the National Curriculum of the United Kingdom. This blended academic practice is reflected in students’ classroom learning, co-curricular engagement, and overall development approach. The school believes that academic excellence must be supported by physical well-being to ensure balanced growth.
In line with its health-focused initiatives, New Summit School also provides four courses of healthy meals to students every day. To maintain high nutritional standards, the school has hired professional nutritionists who regularly assess students’ nutritional status. Detailed reports are shared with parents every six months, ensuring transparency and collaborative monitoring of children’s health.
Parents and community members appreciated the school’s proactive approach to student wellbeing and community service. The successful completion of the health camp reflects New Summit School’s continued commitment to nurturing healthy, confident, and academically strong learners while extending its support beyond the school premises.
With initiatives like these, New Summit School sets a commendable example of how educational institutions can integrate academic excellence, health awareness, and social responsibility to benefit society.
