Universities to Resume the Regular Classes Only after Chhath

Tribhuvan University, Registrar's Office, Information and Public Relations Division has published an important notice regarding a temporary halt to all academic activities due to the volatile situation prevailing across the country. 

It has been decided that all teaching/learning activities at Tribhuvan University will remain closed on Bhadra 29, 30, and 31, as well as Asoj 1, 2, and 5, and Kartik 9, 2082 BS i.e till the Chhath festival, with deductions from the upcoming winter vacation, and regular teaching/learning will resume from Kartik 11, 2082 BS, as per the instructions. Further updates will be provided through official university channels if necessary.

Kathmandu University has announced that regular academic activities will remain suspended until after the Chhath festival due to the difficulties created by Gen Z movement.

According to the Registrar’s Office, the prescheduled examinations with new dates will be updated be once the regular academic activities resume. For ongoing examinations being conducted by different schools, respective deans and examination controllers have been authorized to coordinate and make necessary decisions.

The university has also arranged transportation for students residing in university hostels to travel from main gate of the university at Dhulikhel to Kathmandu from  6:30 AM on Bhadra 27 and 28. For this, students are required to register their details via the provided online form on the notice. Students traveling outside the Kathmandu Valley are advised to coordinate and register with the Directorate of Student Welfare.

Similarly, admission, scholarship, and vacancy announcements with fixed deadlines will be republished, allowing a one-week period once the university resumes operations. Essential services and administrative tasks will continue as required.
 

Also, Pokhara University has postponed all remaining Spring 2025 undergraduate and postgraduate examinations until after the Chhath festival. The revised schedule will be published after the Dashain holidays.

Mid-West University has also decided to resume its academic activities after Chhath. However, all its daily administrative activities will be continued from Bhadra 27 to Ashoj 5, 2082.
