UGC Nepal Accredits Three Colleges with Prestigious QAA Certification

University Grant Commission has decided to award Quality Assessment and Accreditation (QAA) to three private colleges. The UGC meeting held on 7th Mangsir, 2082 (23rd November, 2025) had decided to certify with institutional accreditation for Uniglobe College, Nesfiled International College, and King's College.

This achievement underscores their commitment to academic excellence and institutional quality, setting a benchmark for other institutions across the country.

The QAA system, established by the UGC in 2007, is a comprehensive framework designed to evaluate and accredit higher education institutions based on rigorous criteria, including governance, infrastructure, teaching-learning processes, research, and community engagement. It aims to ensure that colleges and universities maintain high standards of education, fostering continuous improvement and accountability. By undergoing this voluntary yet demanding process, institutions demonstrate their dedication to delivering quality education that meets national and international benchmarks.

Profile of Accredited Institutions

Uniglobe College, set up in 2009 in New Baneshwor, Kathmandu, is affiliated with Pokhara University and specializes in management and information technology education, including MBA, BBA, and BCSIT programs. With state-of-the-art facilities like finance labs and a strong emphasis on research and placements, it has positioned itself as a hub for aspiring business leaders and tech professionals.

King's College, located in Babarmahal, Kathmandu, is a private business school affiliated with Westcliff University, USA. Founded with a focus on entrepreneurship and innovation, it offers programs like BBA, MBA, and IT degrees, emphasizing community-based learning and real-world applications to prepare students for global challenges.

Nesfield International College, established in 2007 in Lagankhel, Lalitpur, is affiliated with Tribhuvan University and renowned for its programs in hotel management, business studies, and social work. It prides itself on blending theoretical knowledge with practical skills, catering to a diverse student body aiming for careers in hospitality and management sectors.

This QAA certification is crucial as it not only validates the institutions' operational and academic strengths but also enhances their credibility among students, employers, and international partners. In a competitive education market, QAA-accredited colleges attract better talent, secure funding opportunities, and contribute to Nepal's overall human resource development. As of now, over 100 higher education institutions in Nepal have earned this distinction, with these three additions highlighting the growing emphasis on quality in private education.

For prospective students, this means access to assured quality education that aligns with global standards, ultimately boosting employability and societal impact. As Nepal continues to prioritize educational reforms, such recognitions pave the way for a brighter future in higher learning.
