Tribhuvan University (TU)'s Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FoHSS) has released the amended examination schedule for the Chance and Grade Increment examinations for the semester-based MA programs.

Tribhuvan University (TU)'s Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FoHSS) has released the examination schedule for the Chance and Grade Increment examinations for the semester-based MA programs. The examinations cover the first, second, third, and fourth semesters of both the regular MA program and the MA Self-sustainable Programme. 

The exams are officially set to begin on Mangsir 7, 2082. The schedule applies to all candidates who have successfully filled out the examination forms for the Chance and Grade Increment examinations, as per the notices previously published on  2081/12/10, 2082/02/06, and 2082/02/25. All concerned students are advised to check the official notice and prepare accordingly.

Notes:

  •  If the examination of any subjects of the candidates clash with or are missed due to any other arrangement by the Dean's office, they should immediately notify the Dean's Office.
  • The pre-determined examinations will not be postponed until further notice is issued by this office.
  • No alternative arrangement will be made for candidates who are absent from the examination according to the published examination schedule.
  • All professors and staff working at the concerned campuses and departments are requested to provide mandatory support for the conduct of the examinations.
  • Admit cards will be distributed by the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences starting from B.S. 2082/08/01. Candidates must compulsorily present a photo-identification document when coming to collect their admit card.

Tribhuvan University's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Dean's Office has announced an extension to the deadline for the chance exam for regular Master of Arts (MA) students under the semester system who have exceeded the maximum time limit but are still eligible for a "Chance Examination" to submit their examination forms. 

Previously, the faculty had announced the commencement of applications for the chance examination on 2081/12/10, setting the regular submission deadline for 2081/01/05 and a final deadline with a double fee for 2082/01/10.

Instruction: 

  • Exam Fee: Rs. 1500 per semester per student. The fee must be deposited at the respective campus. The college must submit the consolidated fee for all students to the Nepal Bank account of this faculty member along with the submitted forms within 7 days of the form submission deadline.
  • Chance Exam Eligibility: As per Tribhuvan University rules, this chance exam is only for students whose time limit has expired and who couldn't pass all the curriculum subjects.  Other students or those seeking to improve their grades are not eligible to fill out the form.
  • Exam Center and Schedule: The exam center, which will be located in Kathmandu, will be determined and announced later. Similarly, the exam schedule will also be published later.
  • Interested students who meet the criteria are informed to fill out and submit the examination form for this "Chance Examination" through their respective departments/campuses/colleges (online system is not available) by the extended deadline.

This one-time opportunity is being offered to students admitted under the semester system from the 2007 to 2018 batches who have not been able to pass all required courses within the stipulated timeframe, as per the Semester System Operation Regulations 2074.

The decision, approved by the Tribhuvan University Academic Council, aims to provide a final chance for these students to complete their MA degrees. Eligible students are urged to visit their respective departments, campuses, or colleges in person (online applications are not available) to fill out and submit the Chance Exam form. Concerned campuses/colleges are instructed to compulsorily forward the collected forms along with examination fees to the Dean's Office within 2082/02/15.

Regarding Filling/Submitting the Exam Form:

(a) Students appearing for the Chance Exam must be physically present at their respective departments/campuses/colleges, under the supervision and guidance of the department/campus/college, and clearly mention the subject and subject code as per their enrollment and the curriculum they studied.

(b) A copy of the mark sheet of the previous exam the student participated in must be included with the exam form.

(c) The exam form must compulsorily include practical exams (if any), fieldwork, and thesis, as well as other subjects specified by the curriculum.

(d) The student's name and registration number must be filled out clearly as per Tribhuvan University registration.

Things to be Noted by the Concerned Departments/Campuses/Colleges While Sending Exam Forms:

(a) Separate exam forms should be filled for each semester and submitted in separate files, along with a subject-wise list of the students' names.

(b) The consolidated fee for all students, as per the exam forms, must be deposited into the Nepal Bank account of this faculty, and the original bank voucher must be submitted within the specified deadline.

(c) The concerned departments/ campuses/ colleges must verify and authenticate the exam forms filled by their students and send the details along with the subjects and subject codes as per Tribhuvan University rules and the then-applicable curriculum. Otherwise, if the exam is canceled or the student is unable to obtain a transcript, the student or the concerned department/campus/college will be held responsible.
