A two-day workshop has been launched in Pokhara with the aim of making the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) operation and management effective. The SEE Examination Operation and Management Improvement Workshop has been organized by the Education Development Division under the Ministry of Social Development, Youth and Sports of Gandaki Province.
The workshop is attended by representatives of various concerned bodies related to the education sector, teachers, representatives involved in examination management, and officials of related bodies.
Based on the report prepared from the workshop, the Gandaki Provincial Government will take forward work in education as per its authority and make recommendations to the central government on necessary issues, said Damodar Subedi, Chief of the Education Development Division. He pointed out the need to improve policies and management to address the problems seen from the registration of students to the time of obtaining certificates.
Addressing the workshop, Gandaki Province Minister for Social Development, Youth and Sports Bindu Kumar Thapa stressed that an important national examination like SEE should be conducted in a systematic, transparent and effective manner. She expressed confidence that the workshop would involve sharing experiences, identifying problems and discussing solutions among stakeholders involved in the examination management.
Stating that developing a student-friendly and systematic examination system while enhancing the quality of the education sector is a priority of the provincial government, she mentioned that the provincial government is committed to improving the quality of education and making examinations more systematic.
Former Chairman of the National Examination Board, Dr. Mahashram Sharma, said that Gandaki Province is working effectively in the field of education as per its authority. He mentioned that continuous efforts should be made to make the examination system more systematic and international standard by absorbing the changes in information, communication and technology. He opined that the examination system can be improved through transparent, practical and systematic management.
Subhash Pant, head of the National Examination Board Gandaki Province Office, pointed out the need to pay special attention to organizing the SEE examination in a technology-friendly manner.
