The National Examination Board (NEB), Office of the Controller of Examinations (Class 10), has issued an important notice requiring students currently studying in Class 9 (Academic Session 2082) in the Regular stream, including General, Traditional (Sanskrit/ Vedvidyashram/ Gurukul/ Madarsa/ Gonpa), and Technical streams, to complete and submit a registration form to participate in the regular Secondary Education Examination (SEE) 2083 . The notice concerns all students, schools, local level education divisions, Education Development and Coordination Units, and Education Development Directorates.

1. For Students Currently Studying in Class 9 in Schools (General, Traditional, and Technical Streams):

a) Eligibility and Submission

All students, including those studying in the regular stream of General, Traditional, and Technical streams, must have passed the annual examination of Class 8 or equivalent under the Letter Grading System. Students must submit the form along with following documents and revenue fee to the the school where they are studying between Kartik 19, 2082 and Mangsir 24, 2082. This fee must be deposited under Revenue Head No. 14223.

  • a copy of their Grade Sheet (with a minimum D grade obtained in 2079 BS or later)
  • a copy of their Birth Certificate (both certified by the Principal).
  • a recently taken passport-size photo in school uniform.
  • The form, along with a revenue fee of Rs 300/-,

b) School Verification and Submission: 

Schools must verify and certify the details of their regular students (name, date of birth, mother's/father's name, etc.) to ensure there are no discrepancies. They must submit the verified forms, along with the details of the revenue payment, to the concerned Education Development and Coordination Unit by the end of Mangsir 2082.

c) For Open/Alternative/Adult Students: 

Students from Open, Alternative, and Non-formal Adult Schools must fill out the registration form together with the examination application form during the time designated for the 2083 examination application.

2. Mandatory for SEE 2083:

Students in the General, Traditional, and Technical streams must fill out this form for the purpose of registering their names to be included in the SEE 2083. Therefore, students who do not fill out this form will not be allowed to participate in the SEE for that academic year.

3. Age Requirement: 

To be participate in the SEE 2083 after filling out the registration form in 2082, the student must have completed 14 years of age by the end of Chaitra 2083.

4. Responsibility of Education Development and Coordination Units:

 The Education Development and Coordination Units must complete the online entry of the necessary registration form details and the verification process according to the following work schedule:

Note: 

  • Students must fill out the registration form only through the school where they are regularly studying. If a student is found to have registered from more than one school/district/place, the forms from both sides will be automatically cancelled. Do not attempt or allow the process of filling out a double registration form. If this action is discovered later, the examination will be cancelled, and the individual/institution involved will be held solely responsible.
  • The model of the registration form is available on the website of the Office of the Controller of Examinations (OCE). Schools must have one student fill out the form in two copies. The OCE will establish the registration number (Reg. No.) and provide a soft copy to the Education Development and Coordination Unit. The Education Development and Coordination Unit will provide the soft copy to the schools. The schools must write the registration number on the form filled out by the student, have the student's photograph attested by the School Principal and the Unit Chief, keep one copy in the school, and provide the other copy to the student.
  • Schools can download the registration form from the website of the National Examination Board (NEB), the website of the Office of the Controller of Examinations (Class 10) as shown in above or the website of the concerned Education Development Directorate. Related information and details can be obtained from the respective websites.
  • Furthermore, if there is any confusion regarding the notice, clarification can be obtained by contacting the Office of the Controller of Examinations (Class 10) at phone number: 01-6630818.
  • Correction: Regarding the notice published on the date 2082/07/16, which mentioned in point number 12 that open, alternative, and non-formal adult schools must fill out both the registration and application forms: Due to special circumstances, students who were studying in Class 9 during the academic session 2081 were required to fill out the registration form only in 2082. Since students of open and alternative schools also filled out the registration form during that time, it is hereby clarified that students from open and alternative schools are now only required to fill out the application form, as per the notice dated 2082/07/16.
