Rajarshi Janak University (RJU) introduced two new legal programs: Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Master of Laws (LLM) in 2026. Offered under the Faculty of Humanities and Law, these programs are designed to meet the growing demand for competent legal professionals in Nepal, focusing on jurisprudence, legal scholarship, and specialized consultancy.
The university will operate these courses under an annual system, ensuring a structured and comprehensive approach to legal education. To facilitate students across different regions, the university has allocated a total of 200 seats for the LLB program. Of these, 100 seats are available at the University Campus in Janakpurdham, while the remaining 100 seats are available at the Dean's Office subordinate facility at TechLaw College in Tinkune, Kathmandu. Similarly, the same facility will offer an LLM program with 40 seats in Kathmandu for those pursuing advanced legal studies.
The admission process for both programs is merit-based and open to qualified candidates who successfully pass the RJU entrance examination with a minimum score of 40 marks. The university highlights that applicants must take their entrance exams and complete their studies at the specific location for which they have submitted their application.
Applicants are required to upload scanned copies of several essential documents during the online registration process. These include academic transcripts or marksheets, citizenship certificates, and a recent photograph with a digital signature. Candidates with degrees from foreign institutions must also provide an equivalence certificate. Furthermore, those applying under reservation quotas are required to attach the necessary recommendation letters or supporting documents online to claim their seats.
