On the occasion of Pokhara University entering its 29th year, the university honored its teachers and staff who have dedicated over 25 years of service with long service awards. Among those recognized were Registrar Associate Professor Ajay Thapa, Associate Administrator Govardhan Bhattarai, Deputy Administrator Sita Devi Dhakal, Chief Assistants Bimal Karki and Purushottam Ranabhat, Driver Jhaga Bahadur Kamar, and Office Assistants Durga Regmi and Jogiram Nepali.

Established on 1st Shrawan 2054 BS under the Pokhara University Act, 2053 BS, the university has been marking its establishment day each year with a range of programs. This year, the celebration included a tree plantation on the university premises along with a ceremony to honor long-serving staff with service medals.

Speaking at the event, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Dr. Bedraj KC, said that the university has been established as an important institution of higher education. Expressing gratitude to the former office bearers, social workers, and educationists who contributed to the university reaching its current heights, he expressed confidence that the policies and programs put forward through the 25th University Assembly would be more effective.

Pokhara University Service Commission Chairman Prof. Tirtha Raj Aryal stated that the commission has been working as per the university's guidelines and expressed his commitment to move forward in coordination with the goals and plans in the coming days as well. Registrar Associate Professor Ajay Thapa shared his experience of growing up with Pokhara University and said that he felt proud to have been in continuous service for 25 years.

Stating that the university, which initially started with 12-15 students at the postgraduate level and 28 students at the undergraduate level, and eight-10 employees, is currently providing higher education opportunities to more than 35,000 students through 65 colleges, he said that the credit for this success goes to all the founders, office bearers, teachers, employees, and students. 

Speaking at the program, former Registrar Prof. Dr. Deepak Bahadur Bhandari, Dean of the Faculty of Management Associate Prof. Dr. Dayaraj Dhakal, President of the Professors' Association Associate Prof. Dr. Niranjan Shrestha, Director of the School of Business Associate Prof. Dr. Srijan Gyawali, and others said that the university should be developed as a center for quality education with the support and cooperation of everyone.
