Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who is also the chancellor of the universities in Nepal, resigned from his post on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, amid the Gen Z movement.
The resignation was announced following the protesters' vandalism of several vital offices, including the Parliament building, the residences of leaders, and protests spreading across other cities in the country. The protest started on Monday, September 8, 2025.
Oli, in a letter addressed to President Ram Chandra Poudel, stated that he has resigned from his post in view of the current unusual situation prevailing in the country.
