The Nepal-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NGCCI) and Kantipur City College (KCC), affiliated with Purbanchal University, have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at bridging the existing gap between the industrial and academic sectors in Nepal.
The agreement was officially signed by NGCCI President Santosh Chandra Kunwar and KCC Chairman Dr. Pralhad Karki during a formal ceremony held today at the NGCCI Secretariat in Naxal, Kathmandu.

The primary objective of this partnership is to elevate the research capabilities, professional skills, and overall employability of KCC students. By aligning academic training with German industry standards and fostering continuous engagement with Nepal’s leading corporate entities, the collaboration seeks to produce a workforce that is ready for the global market.
Under the terms of the MoU, both institutions will collaborate on joint research and studies covering trade, investment, economics, and business management. A key feature of the agreement includes the facilitation of workshops and curriculum development through the Senior Expert Service (SES) from Germany, bringing international technical expertise directly to the classroom.

Furthermore, the partnership opens doors for KCC students and fresh graduates to secure internship and traineeship opportunities within NGCCI’s network of member companies. The two organizations have also committed to hosting joint seminars, webinars, and industry-academia roundtable dialogues to promote knowledge exchange and resource sharing.
Speaking at the event, NGCCI President Santosh Chandra Kunwar noted, "This partnership is a significant step toward making Nepali graduates industry-ready. By connecting KCC’s academic excellence and German-standard expertise with our member companies, we aim to build high-level research relevant to Nepal's economy and create authentic career pathways."

Similarly, Dr. Pralhad Karki, Chairman of KCC, echoed these sentiments, stating, "We are extremely pleased to collaborate with NGCCI. This MoU will provide our students with practical experience, guidance from international experts, and excellent employment opportunities. It aligns perfectly with our vision of producing 'employable and world-class skilled manpower'."
The signing ceremony was attended by senior officials including NGCCI Treasurer Shubhashish Thapaliya, Co-Treasurer Gopal Das Manandhar, Advisor Dr. Gopal Prasad Tiwari, and other high-ranking representatives from Kantipur City College.
