Nepal Engineering Council Alerts to Verify Recognition Before Enrolling in Engineering Colleges
Degrees Offered in Nepal

Cautious Note (13 August 2025): Though Bheri College of Engineering & Management has got affiliation from Far-Western University, it has not yet received recognition from the Nepal Engineering Council (NEC). So, we advise parents and students to get confirmation regarding this matter before enrollment.

NEC, the sole regulatory body for engineering education and practice in Nepal, is responsible for ensuring high standards and ethical conduct within the profession. It has issued a public notice, reminding that only educational institutions recognized by the NEC are legally authorized to offer engineering-related courses.

The notice, published on August 12, 2025, references Section 21 (a) of the Nepal Engineering Council Act, 2055 (First Amendment, 2071), which mandates that all educational institutions must receive official recognition from the NEC before they can teach engineering subjects.

The council stated that enrolling in or pursuing studies at institutions without NEC accreditation is against the law. Students aspiring to study engineering must ensure that their chosen institution has obtained NEC recognition before applying for admission.

This notice aims to prevent students from unknowingly enrolling in unrecognized institutions and facing potential academic or professional setbacks in the future.

For further information, please visit the council's official website at www.nec.gov.np.
