Mid-West University has officially launched the Master of Public Administration (MPA) program with the announcement of its admission for the academic year 2082/83 (2026). The two-year graduate course is offered at the University's Graduate School of Management in a semester system.
Designed as a market-responsive and globally benchmarked program, the MPA integrates governance theories with practical public sector management, placing a heavy emphasis on the specific challenges and opportunities within Nepal’s current federal structure. According to the university, the curriculum of 60 credit hours is strategically crafted to develop the next generation of public administrators and policy innovators in Nepal.
The program's structure balances foundational knowledge with analytical rigor. In the initial phases, students will focus on core competencies such as administrative law, public finance, digital governance, and human capital management. As the course progresses, the curriculum shifts toward strategic leadership, social inclusion, and evidence-based policymaking. The academic journey concludes with integrative capstone projects, internships, or research initiatives designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world application.
A key highlight of the new MPA is the embedding of the Labor Market-Driven Program (LMDP) framework. This ensures that the education provided remains aligned with national priorities and international standards. The university has also committed to a proactive approach to learning, incorporating structured mechanisms for ongoing curricular reviews to keep pace with rapid socio-political and technological changes.
Regarding eligibility, the university has opened applications from a diverse range of candidates. Individuals who have successfully completed a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university are eligible to apply for enrollment.
By aligning academic excellence with the evolving demands of the public sector, Mid-West University aims to produce socially responsible administrators capable of driving institutional excellence and inclusive development across the nation.
