The Medical Education Commission has finalized the allocation of postgraduate (PG) seats for government and private medical colleges.

A meeting of the commission held on Mangsir 14, 2082, at Singha Durbar determined the number of PG seats to be distributed among colleges. Speaking to the media after the meeting, Minister for Education, Science and Technology Mahabir Pun said that the discussion focused on how many seats each college would receive for postgraduate studies.

According to him, government colleges will receive slightly more than one thousand seats, while private colleges will receive slightly fewer than one thousand. He stated that stakeholders were satisfied with the decision. “The commission discussed the distribution of PG seats among colleges. Government colleges have been allocated a little over one thousand seats, and private colleges slightly less. Fixing such a large number of seats is itself significant work. All participants expressed satisfaction with the allocation,” he said.

The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Sushila Karki, who also serves as the chairperson of the commission. It was held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers at Singha Durbar on Sunday.
