Kathmandu University School of Engineering (KUSOE) has introduced a new Master's program in Green Infrastructure Engineering within the Department of Environmental Engineering. The newly launched M.E. in Green Infrastructure Engineering is designed to prepare engineers to build climate-resilient, sustainable infrastructure. The program places strong emphasis on green and nature-based infrastructure solutions.
Nepalese and international applicants who have completed a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, architecture, or related engineering disciplines are eligible to apply. Candidates must meet the minimum academic requirements set by Kathmandu University regulations, and final eligibility will be determined in accordance with the university's postgraduate admission regulations, as per the academic calendar.
The program offers several distinctive features, including a focus on Green and Nature-Based Infrastructure, integration of Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Reduction, and application of Life Cycle Assessment and Circular Economy principles. The course places strong emphasis on research, field studies, and practical projects. The curriculum follows a 60-credit structure comprising 18 credits of core courses, 27 credits of interdepartmental electives, and a 15-credit thesis. Students also benefit from a flexible, customizable study plan that enables them to design their own interdisciplinary curriculum.
