An international conference organized by Purbanchal University commenced today at its Gothegaun campus in Morang. The two-day conference is being held under the theme “Envisioning the Himalayan Future: Pathways to Sustainability and Development.”
The conference features 194 research papers and includes discussions across five broad areas: arts, law and education; management; engineering; science and technology; and medicine and health sciences.
Inaugurating the event, the Chairperson of the University Grants Commission, Prof. Dr. Devaraj Adhikari, highlighted the significance of international conferences. He noted that such forums play an important role in development, governance, international relations, and in strengthening collaboration among universities.
The first technical session featured keynote addresses by Prof. Dr. Mrigendra Bahadur Karki, Executive Director of the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology, and Prof. Steen W. Wallace from Norway. The second session included keynote speakers Prof. Dr. Kitthang Angsulee of Chulalongkorn University, Prof. Rafal Lijut from the State University of Internal Affairs, and Prof. Lucius Botez of North-West University.
The third session featured Prof. Dr. Sudan Jha from Kathmandu University, Prof. Anirudh Agrawal of BML Munjal University, and Upendra Prasad Paudyal from the Asia Pacific Global Alliance for Banking on Values as keynote speakers.
Vice Chancellor of Purbanchal University, Prof. Dr. Bijay Kumar Thapaliya, welcomed participants and guests while outlining the objectives and importance of the international conference. Registrar Prof. Dr. Kalyani Mishra delivered the vote of thanks, expressing appreciation to the speakers and participants.
