Education Minister Proposes Including Full Scholarship Provision for Private Schools in the Regulations
Degrees Offered in Nepal

Minister for Education, Science, and Technology Raghuji Pant has proposed to include the issue of providing full scholarships by private schools in the regulations.

In the meeting of the Education, Health, and Information Technology Committee of the House of Representatives held on Monday, Bhadra 2, Minister Pant proposed moving forward with the provision of including accommodation and uniforms under full scholarships in private schools in the regulations.

A meeting of the Coordination Consultative Subcommittee was held on Sunday to discuss the controversial issue, but no consensus could be reached. Private schools argue that it is not possible to provide accommodation and uniforms under full scholarships, while committee members insist that full scholarships should also include accommodation and uniforms.

In the earlier meeting held on 22nd Shrawan, a proposal was made to remove the accommodation and uniform from this. But the proposal could not be passed as the members did not agree. Private school operators are staging a phased protest on this issue. The Teachers' Federation has also expressed dissatisfaction with the bill. The Federation has announced that it will launch protests starting from the second week of Bhadra.
