Community schools in Bhojpur have emphasized technical education. The emphasis has been placed on technology-friendly education to make education practical and employment-oriented.
Most secondary-level community schools in Bhojpur have been providing practical and life-skills education. Arrangements have been made for students who want to pursue technical education to take this education from Grade 9 to Grade 12.
Most of the schools here, including Panchakanya Secondary School, Chyangre, Yashodhara Secondary School, Taksar, Panchakanya Secondary School, Bhulne, Siddheshwor Secondary School, Dawa, have been providing technical education. Dhruvraj Regmi, Principal of Yashodhara Secondary School, said that they have been emphasizing technology-friendly, practical teaching to make education practical and timely. He mentioned that this will help every student become self-employed.
Principal Dhruv Raj Regmi further informed that most of the secondary-level community schools in the district have emphasized practical education in line with the state policy. “Community schools have been emphasizing practical education along with technical education,” he said. “It is inevitable to emphasize technical education as per the needs of the time. Such education will help in producing skilled manpower.”
Tekraj Bhattarai, Chairman of the Panchakanya Secondary School Management Committee, said that emphasis has been placed on technology-friendly education to make education practical and technology-oriented rather than traditional.
Gradually, students are becoming more interested in technical education. According to Bhattarai, out of 60 students who appeared for the recently published Grade 12 results, 49 passed in the technical stream and 11 in the general stream. For practice, students have cultivated various vegetables on school grounds and on leased land. Students are gaining practical knowledge on various agricultural subjects like Akabare chili, mushroom, and tomato cultivation, as well as modern methods of rice and maize farming, fish farming, and cauliflower and avocado cultivation.
