A total of 545 students graduated from Nepal Open University (NOU) during its first convocation ceremony held today in the presence of Prime Minister and Chancellor Sushila Karki.

The graduates represented three major faculties: Science, Health, and Technology; Social Sciences and Education; and Management and Law. While 545 students successfully completed their academic requirements, 191 were present in person to receive their degrees during the ceremony.

Addressing the ceremony, PM Karki, also the Chancellor of the University, presented the 'chancellor medal' to the top-scoring students of Bachelor's and Master's Levels. PM Karki emphasized the importance of accessible higher education in building a skilled workforce for the nation’s future.

Distinguished educationist and former Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan University, Kedar Bhakta Mathema, attended the event as the chief guest.

Established in 2016 (2073 BS), Nepal Open University has expanded its academic reach to provide distance and open learning opportunities. It currently offers a wide range of programs including Bachelor’s, Master’s, MPhil, and PhD levels, catering to students who require flexible learning environments.
