Melung Rural Municipality is one of the 9 municipalities in Dolakha District of Bagmati Province. As per the 2021 census, the rural municipality has a total population of 15,893, comprising 7,456 males (46.9%) and 8,437 females (53.1%), with a literacy rate of 65.17%. Spanning 86.54 square kilometers, Melung Rural Municipality exhibits the population density of 184 people per square kilometer. Administratively, it is divided into 7 wards.
