Lahan Municipality is one of the 17 municipalities in Siraha District of Madhesh Province. As per the 2021 census, the municipality has a total population of 102,031, comprising 50,567 males (49.6%) and 51,464 females (50.4%), with a literacy rate of 69.15%. Spanning 167.17 square kilometers, Lahan Municipality exhibits the population density of 610 people per square kilometer. Administratively, it is divided into 24 wards.
According to the latest publicly available report of the Center for Education and Human Resource Development (CEHRD), Lahan has 128 schools. Of these, 57 are private and 65 are public. The breakdown includes 88 pre-schools, 123 basic schools, and 43 secondary schools. Among the secondary schools, 9 offer +2 programs.
