Harinagar Rural Municipality is one of the 12 municipalities in Sunsari District of Koshi Province. As per the 2021 census, the rural municipality has a total population of 49,845, comprising 24,567 males (49.3%) and 25,278 females (50.7%), with a literacy rate of 70.35%. Spanning 52.29 square kilometers, Harinagar Rural Municipality exhibits the population density of 953 people per square kilometer. Administratively, it is divided into 7 wards.
